Congratulations to the Siloam Springs High School BOYS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM for winning the 2008 5A State Cross Country Championship in Hot Springs at Saturday.   The 2008 state championship is the 7th state boys cross country championship for the Panthers.  Siloam Springs has won state championships in boys cross country in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2006, and 2008.
The Panthers have also been the state runner up in boys cross country 3 other years. The Lady Panthers have also won 2 state championships 2001 and 2002 with three state runners up finishes.  The Siloam Springs Cross Country Program now has a total of 9 state championships with 6 state runners up finishes.
The Panther Cross Country team will be presented a state championship banner at half time of the home football play-off game this Friday night at Siloam Springs at about 8:00 p.m. The newly earned 2008 state championship cross country banner will be hung in the Panther Arena with the other Siloam Springs State Championship banners
We also applaud the efforts of our Lady Panthers Cross Country team for their 4th place finish at the State 5A Girls Cross Country Race in Hot Springs last Saturday.
Congratulations to Head Coach Sharon Jones, Assistant Coach Bill Covington, the Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams and all of those that have helped the Panther Cross Country Program be successful both this year and in the past.
