The Siloam Springs Writers Guild announced winners of the 2018 Siloam Springs area Roy Chesney Poetry Contest. The contest prizes were provided by the Roy Chesney Foundation. Mr. Tim McCord awarded prizes as the representative for the Foundation.

Poets who were awarded prizes for their entries were: First Prize of $500 to Kendra Cook for “Siloam is Loam,” Second Prize of $200 to Natasha Nathan for “She – Is Siloam Springs,” Third Prize of $100 to Rachel Kulp for “Lovin’ Siloam Springs,” First Place First-Time Entrant Prize to Jamie Walt for “Forgotten from the Census.” Honorable Mentions went to David Ravenhill for “Our Town, Siloam Springs,” and Dana Ahne for “Who Am I?”

The Writers Guild will meet on November 12 at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 2000 Dawn Hill Road, West entrance.
