The Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce hosted three area Legislators who represent our area for the first of three Legislative Briefings on Saturday, Jan. 26.  Legislators attending were:  State Sen. Jim Hendren; State Rep. Robin Lundstrum; and State Rep. Dan Douglas.

Topics discussed included:  efforts to continue to reduce unemployment insurance costs for employers; the Governor's transformation plan to streamline state agencies; ethics focus (including live streaming/video coverage of House and Senate sessions and committee meetings); highway funding sources; efforts to end the fiscal session; the Republican Women's Caucus program - "Dream Big";  tax reduction efforts; and "chipping", the process of inserting a microchip under the skin of employees by companies (needs to be optional, according to Legislators present).

The next briefing will be on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 am - noon, in the Chamber of Commerce Board room at 101 N. Mt. Olive Street.
