... WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM CDT SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TULSA HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM CDT SATURDAY...

FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES... * IN ARKANSAS... CARROLL... BENTON... WASHINGTON AND MADISON.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER... * PRECIPITATION WILL INCREASE IN COVERAGE THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT ACROSS NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS. MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS SNOW ACROSS PORTIONS OF CARROLL AND MADISON COUNTIES. RAIN IS EXPECTED TO TRANSITION TO SNOW ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF FAR NORTHWEST ARKANSAS DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AS TEMPERATURES COOL. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MID MORNING SATURDAY... WITH A POTENTIAL TRANSITION FROM SNOW TO RAIN BEFORE THE PRECIPITATION TAPERS OFF.

* UP TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM CDT SATURDAY.

IMPACTS... * USE CAUTION NEAR TREES... AS SNOW ACCUMULATION ON LEAVES AND BRANCHES COULD CAUSE THEM TO BREAK. THIS COULD ALSO LEAD TO POWER OUTAGES.

* ROADS IN THE ADVISORY AREA MAY BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS... ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES AND NON-TREATED SURFACES.

DEFINITION... * A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINTERY PRECIPITATION MAY ACCUMULATE ON ROADWAYS.
