Winter weather advisory in effect from 6 am to 6 pm cst wednesday, winter storm watch remains in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning,

The NWS in tulsa has issued a winter weather advisory for snow and sleet, which is in effect from 6 am to 6 pm cst Wednesday and a winter storm watch is in effect, For the following counties, in Arkansas, Washington, madison, crawford, benton, carroll and franklin.

Hazardous weather, snow and sleet are expected to overspread parts of northwest Arkansas during the late morning and early afternoon hours Wednesday, with some accumulation possible.
Up to 1 inch of snow and sleet accumulation and less than a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is expected from 6 am to 6 pm cst Wednesday.

More significant wintry precipitation, including areas of freezing rain and sleet, will develop Wednesday evening. The potential for several hours of ice accumulation exists Wednesday night and early Thursday, especially over carroll, madison, and northern franklin counties. Scattered thunderstorms are also expected, potentially leading to periods of rapid and locally heavier accumulations.

A quarter to half an inch of ice accumulation is expected from 6 pm cst Wednesday to noon Thursday.
Impacts, roads may develop slick spots during the day Wednesday, especially on bridges and overpasses and non-treated surfaces.

Roads, bridges, and overpasses may become slick and hazardous Wednesday night and early Thursday, making travel treacherous. Gusty winds will make prolonged power outages possible.
