... LIGHT SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE LATE TONIGHT INTO MONDAY OVER FAR NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS...
AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM CURRENTLY ALONG THE WEST COAST WILL MOVE INTO THE SOUTHERN PLAINS BY MONDAY. PRECIPITATION WILL SPREAD NORTH AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM TONIGHT INTO MONDAY.

TEMPERATURE PROFILES ACROSS FAR NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS WILL BE FAVORABLE FOR SLEET AND/OR SNOW WHEN THE PRECIPITATION BEGINS LATE SUNDAY NIGHT. THE THREAT OF WINTER WEATHER WILL CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY MONDAY MORNING BEFORE PRECIPITATION CHANGES OVER TO ALL RAIN AS WARMER AIR CONTINUES TO MOVE INTO THE REGION FROM THE SOUTH.

AT THIS TIME... ANY ACCUMULATION OF SLEET AND SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BE MINIMAL. HOWEVER... LOCAL AMOUNTS OF AN INCH OR SO ARE POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF NORTHWEST ARKANSAS AND IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA ALONG THE KANSAS BORDER. MOST ACCUMULATION WILL BE ON GRASSY OR ELEVATED SURFACES... AS TEMPERATURES WILL BE HOVERING AT OR JUST ABOVE FREEZING.

IF THE SNOW OR SLEET IS HEAVY ENOUGH... IT COULD ACCUMULATE ON SOME ROADWAYS AT LEAST FOR A BRIEF TIME. NO MAJOR TRAVEL IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED HOWEVER.
