FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas Razorbacks fell to the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 52-0 on Saturday afternoon. The matchup drew 74,617 fans to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, the sixth-largest crowd in Razorback history.
 
Freshman quarterback Brandon Allen was 10-for-18 with 60 yards for the day. Allen connected with six different Razorbacks on the day. Leading the Razorbacks on the ground was junior running back Knile Davis with 59 yards.
 
After the Arkansas defense forced Alabama to a three-and-out on their first possession, the Crimson Tide came back and put points on the board with a six-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter to go up 7-0.
 
In the second quarter, Alabama drove 46 yards down the field to score on a 51-yard field goal to put the Crimson Tide up 10-0. Alabama would later capitalize on an interception and drive 67 yards down the field to score on a 20-yard touchdown pass for a 17-0 lead.
With 3:01 on the clock in the second quarter, Alabama would score with a one-yard rushing touchdown to head into the half up 24-0.
 
To start the third quarter, the Crimson Tide drove 75 yards down the field and scored on a 10-yard rushing touchdown to put Alabama up 31-0. With 11:27 in the third quarter, a fumbled kick return gave the Crimson Tide the ball on the 27 yard line, which resulted in a one-yard touchdown giving Alabama a 38-0 lead. Alabama picked up a 12-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put the Tide up 45-0. Alabama would snag another touchdown off a 27-yard rush to put Crimson Tide up 52-0, which was the final score.
 
The Razorbacks will face Big East foe Rutgers at home inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium next Saturday at 6 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPNU.
