More than Muscles: Men, Take Care of Your Bones, Too
Osteoporosis, the bone-thinning disease, has always been known as a woman’s issue. Not so, according to health experts: Men are equally at risk. In fact, new industry guidelines urge men to undergo bone density testing, just like women. Men begin to lose bone mass between ages 45 and 50 – and one in eight men will break a bone by age 50 due to osteoporosis. All men should have a bone density test by age 70 or earlier if you have a condition that increases your risk, such as rheumatoid arthritis. Talk to your doctor today about this quick and easy test to protect your health. This message is brought to you by your friends at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.
