SCRAMLBED STATES OF AMERICA
Whoever said that learning about U.S. geography had to be boring must not have read The Scrambled States of America. We fell head-over-heels for Laurie Keller's hilarious story and knew that it had the making for a great game. As with her book, we hope our game provides a fun way to enrich basic knowledge of U.S. geography. Players learn the names, capitals, nicknames, shapes and positions of the states through a myriad of visual teasers, language riddles and geography challenges. After playing, you'll see that there's more to the 50 States than meets the eye! Ages 8 and up.
LOOT
We've talked about making a pirate-themed game for years but wanted to wait until the right one came along. From the moment we first played Loot, we knew we found our buried treasure! Renown game inventor Reiner Knizia has created a highly clever card game that is at once simple to learn and fast to play, while engaging those looking for strategic challenge. We're particularly fond of the team play version, where you and a partner get to look at each other's cards and conspire moves. We find that the game's even more fun when everyone talks in pirate accents when playing. Give it at try and you'll be hooked! Ages 10 and up.
RAT-A-TAT CAT
As children play Rat-a-tat Cat, they develop a sense of timing and an understanding of basic, but essential, mathematical concepts. They learn ways to remember their cards and strategies to figure out what cards other players might have. They also begin to develop an intuitive sense of probability. Rat-a-tat Cat requires skill, strategy, and awareness, challenging both young children and adults.
THREE OF A CRIME
Everyone loves a good whodunit and Three of a Crime is the perfect game to play when you're in the mood to solve a mystery in a short amount of time. As you figure out who's on the eyewitness's card, you'll be employing such brain-building skills as logic and deductive reasoning. Hint: Like in solving a real life crime, don't make an accusation until you can prove that the suspects are guilty without a shadow of doubt! Ages 8 and up.
HORSE SHOW
Horse Show lets children play a strategic game based on horse shows, learning about authentic tack and actual show events. The horses themselves are the game's characters, with lively personalities felt through the illustrations. The child becomes the rider; grooming and braiding before a show, watching a horse at pasture, and jumping clean a stadium hurdle.
SLAMWICH
Slamwich teaches reading readiness skills, like visual discrimination and sequencing. While kids are flipping and stacking cards, they're actually learning how to recognize a series, make combinations, and anticipate what might happen. Ages 6 and up.
WIG OUT
Flip your wig for this fast and frenzied card game that will put your frizzy in a tizzy! Race against your opponents to get rid of cards by matching all kinds of colorful hairstyles. Put together a pair of Pigtails. Combine a couple of Cornrows. Match a Mullet or some Mohawks. The first player out of cards is a cut above the rest!
