Top priority is serving community with quality care

SSRH LOGOSiloam Springs Regional Hospital (SSRH) touched more than 74,000 lives over the past year, positively impacting the well-being of Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma and fulfilling its commitment to serve the healthcare needs of the area.

In 2016, the hospital admitted more than 1,500 patients and had greater than 48,000 outpatient visits, performed nearly 3,000 surgeries and delivered more than 600 babies. The emergency department alone received more than 20,000 patients urgently seeking care.

“Siloam Springs and the surrounding area can count on SSRH for the healthcare services they need,” said Patrick Kerrwood, chief executive officer of Siloam Springs Regional Hospital.  “Our top priority is to provide every patient with quality, personalized care.”

These high standards have been recognized by national accrediting bodies and respected agencies, including The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval after outstanding results from a rigorous survey.

Additionally, patients can access more specialty services close to home than ever before. Three new physicians have come to the community over the past year, including Dr. Natalie Eiland, OB/GYN; Dr. Patrick Schiefelbein, general surgery; and Dr. Janan Lane, occupational medicine.

To support and enhance services, SSRH has continued adding equipment to support the delivery of new services lines and surgical services.

As SSRH continuously evaluates how to best respond to patient needs, it also gives back to the Siloam Springs region. In the last year, SSRH has provided more than $13 million in charity and uncompensated care to the area’s most in need residents. The hospital also makes an impact by paying $740,000 in property and business taxes, which in turn fund civic resources and services.

SSRH also enjoyed working with a number of local non-profit and community organizations over the last year, including Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce, Siloam Springs School District Adopters program, American Heart Association and March of Dimes. Additionally, SSRH also has active Senior Circle events, the Spring into Wellness calendar of events and the newly developed Healthy Community program that provides an extension of their commitment to the local community.

“All of this is possible through the skills and dedication of our employees, medical staff and volunteers,” said Kerrwood. “We thank them for their unwavering commitment which gives us a strong foundation for continued success.”
