The City of Siloam Springs generates on average 2,230 tons of garbage per month. During the holiday season we generate 2,640 tons. That's an additional 410 tons we send to the landfill. Northwest Arkansas has only one landfill.
The solid waste and recycling staff has created a brochure about how to reduce waste during the holiday season. You can find it on the city website HERE.
Please note the city now collects cardboard at the curb! Please flatten it. That saves space in the collection trailer, as well as workers time, thus saving the taxpayer dollars.
