ATTENTION PRESCHOOL PARENTS
Children who will be four years old on or before August 15, 2010 and who qualify under the Arkansas Better Chance
for School Success program (ABCSS), may apply for enrollment. A limited number of openings are available.
ATTENTION KINDERGARTEN PARENTS
Children who will be five years old on or before August 15, may be enrolled in kindergarten. A law passed in 2009
makes a special exception for students who were enrolled in a STATE APPROVED prekindergarten program during
the 2008 - 2009 AND the 2009-2010 school year. The child must have attended at least 100 days each year and the
child turns 5 on or before September 15, 2010.
NOTE: Arkansas Law now requires that all enrolling kindergarten students have a comprehensive preschool physical
examination. Parents must complete a Health History Form prior to the examination. This examination must be
completed before kindergarten classes begin on Thursday, August 19.
ATTENTION FIRST GRADE PARENTS
Children who have successfully completed a kindergarten program in a public school in the State of Arkansas or who
will be six years old on or before October 1, may be enrolled in the first grade. Children who have not successfully
completed a kindergarten program in the State of Arkansas must be evaluated at Allen Elementary before permanent
placement can be made.
IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS (ALL STUDENTS)
All students enrolling into the Siloam Springs School District must have three doses of Hepatitis B, two doses of
measles, one dose of rubella, one dose of mumps, four doses of DTP and two doses of varicella. Seventh grade
students will have to have one dose of TDAP.
