Siloam Springs’ own radio station, KUOA, has moved back home to serve our local community!
For the past two years, KUOA’s home base has been in Springdale. The station, known as “THE HOG”, incorporated an all-sports format.
Several changes have made it possible for KUOA to return to Siloam Springs to concentrate on Local News, Weather, Sports along with Conservative and Christian Talk programming. A new interactive “Tradewinds” program for residents to call in items for sale, trade or to give away is part of the programming each Monday-Friday from 11am to noon.

The new general manager, Chris Daniel, comes to Siloam Springs from Mena, Arkansas. He started his broadcast career in 1973 at the age of 14 in SE Oklahoma and has worked in a number of markets in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana over the years. In addition to on-air work Chris has managed and owned stations, worked as a technician, news reporter and sports announcer.
Chris is involved in Christian short wave broadcast ministries, and while not on the air he enjoys ham radio (his ham call sign is KB5JBS), short wave listening and family time. Chris is married to Leslie a kindergarten teacher and they have two daughters: Chris Ann is a college student and Mary is married to Jim and they live in NC.
Chris looks forward to working with area business people and residents to bring relevant and local programming to KUOA.
Several KUOA “Old Timers”, including Kathy Kay Shelley and Ken Flory are on the staff once again to help make KUOA
THE Local Radio Station.
Complete Program Guides will be available soon, and
Panther Football will be on the air this fall. KUOA-AM will remain at 5,000 watts daytime at 1290 on the dial. An FM translator that will be on-line in late September or early October will allow program simulcasting at 97.9 FM. All programs will also be heard on the stations website at
www.kuoa.net.
