Siloam Springs, Ark. (July 27, 2010) – 101.1 FM KLRC has been selected as a finalist for the National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Award for Medium Market Station of the Year. The NAB Marconi Radio Awards honor radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting.
“We’re honored and humbled to be named as a finalist for one of the NAB’s most prestigious radio awards” said Sean Sawatzky, General Manager for KLRC. “Nothing we do would be possible without God’s continued blessing on KLRC and the amazing support and encouragement our listeners give us each day. This is truly an honor we share with each person who listens to and supports the work here.”
The NAB has been honoring radio stations with Marconi Awards since 1989. The award is named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi. This is the first time that KLRC has been nominated for the Medium Market Station of the Year Award. Previously KLRC was nominated for Religious Station of the Year.
Other stations nominated for the Medium Market Station of the Year award are KKOB-AM, Albuquerque N.M.; KXTD-AM, Tulsa Okla.; WKHK-FM, Richmond, Va; and WXST-FM, Charleston, S.C. KLRC is the only listener-supported station chosen to be a finalist in this category.
The winners will be announced on Sept. 30 at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show held during the annual NAB Radio Show in Washington, D.C.
